How Telcos can deliver the full Edge experience

Every day, companies around the world create, process and share massive amounts of data.

All this business data, once stored locally on in-house equipment and managed independently, is now stored through providers such as Amazon, Microsoft, Google or Telefónica. This is thanks to the prevalence of cloud computing.

The next step in the connectivity puzzle comes as Edge Computing. A process in which cloud computing services are emerging at the very edge of the network, providing computing capabilities to enable higher performance and lower latency.

As a result, Edge Computing is expected to take centre stage in the coming years, with global business estimated at $33.7 billion by 2025 according to Analysys Mason.

It is clear that Telcos have a key role to play in facilitating the delivery of such services from the same locations where the network is hosted to deliver a true edge computing experience.
