Telefónica Tech's SIA Essentials report on the cyber threat scenario for 2023

The recently published SIA Essentials report analyzes the cyber threat landscape, its impact on businesses, and the solutions we offer at Telefónica Tech to protect mobile users from attacks such as malware, phishing, and ransomware.

Some key findings from the report include:

• 49% of Spanish companies experienced a cyberattack in 2023.
• 57% of small and medium-sized enterprises that closed down did so for this reason.
• Spain was the third country in the world with the most cyberattacks, with 40,000 attacks per day.

In response to this, Telefónica Tech offers the SIA Essentials service. This service evaluates network traffic while browsing (DNS queries) to identify and block malicious activities and is activated by subscribing to a compatible mobile plan. There is no need to download or install software on the device.

The report also shows the evolution of this service over the past year and the number and types of threats blocked. In total, last year alone we blocked more than 268 million cyber threats, with malware being the most common, followed by phishing and malicious bots.
