We design and develop Datagia, the collaborative digital agri-food platform for Castilla y León

At Telefónica Tech we have been selected to design and develop Datagia, a collaborative digital agri-food platform promoted by the Agrarian Technological Institute of Castilla y León (Itacyl), with the goal of digitalising the agri-food sector through the use of AI, IoT, Big Data and augmented reality technologies.

This comprehensive digital platform will drive the digital transformation of the entire agri-food value chain, from production to commercialisation, strengthening its traceability, sustainability and competitiveness.

Datagia is conceived as a collaborative ecosystem for the agri-food sector, connecting producers, cooperatives, industry, consumers, researchers and public administrations, fostering public-private collaboration.

Technology and data to transform the agri-food value chain

Our solution enables large-scale data collection through IoT sensors deployed across farms, processing facilities and transport systems. This information is processed using AI and advanced analytics to optimise costs, forecast production and enhance decision-making processes across the agri-food value chain.

The platform will include modules for traceability, augmented reality and predictive analytics, featuring an interface accessible to all profiles across the ecosystem. In addition, we will apply Blockchain technologies to strengthen traceability and transparency regarding the origin and quality of food products.

As part of the project, we are also rolling out digital training initiatives targeting farmers, cooperatives and agri-food businesses, with the goal of bridging the digital divide in rural areas and supporting the adoption of these advanced tools.
