Driving a unified digital identity model for Spain’s insurance sector with TIREA

At Telefónica Tech, we are strengthening cybersecurity and digital identity management in Spain’s insurance sector through a new initiative developed alongside TIREA, the sector’s technology hub. We are designing and preparing a platform that will enable brokers, agents and experts to manage a single digital identity, granting unified and secure access to the digital services of multiple insurance companies.

This project, which will be presented at MWC 2026, addresses the need to move towards a common model that reduces today’s credential fragmentation and enhances interoperability across entities. The future platform will incorporate best practices in security, governance and continuous operations, helping to reinforce trust, support regulatory compliance and add an additional layer of protection to authentication processes.

By working closely with TIREA, we are ensuring sector-wide alignment and establishing a shared framework that supports coordinated adoption across the insurance ecosystem. This collaboration enables the model to evolve in line with real market needs and standards.

Through this initiative, we strengthen our position as a leading operator in the management and operation of complex digital identities in multi-sector and highly regulated environments, enabling secure and traceable access to multiple services while ensuring a consistent experience for insurance sector partners.
