Discover our 5G drone solution at MWC

At Telefónica’s booth at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC), attendees can explore the Drone in-a-Box solution. This solution includes a drone, a base station, and control software, built on 5G technology with an open software architecture and integration into both public and private networks.

To showcase the capabilities of autonomous drone flight planning, we are bringing three real use cases at MWC (Hall 3, booth 3K31) that take advantage of Telefónica’s 5G network and Open Gateway capabilities: aerial transport of medical supplies between hospitals, environmental protection and wildfire prevention, and warehouse inventory automation.

Thanks to Telefónica’s 5G network and Open Gateway capabilities, it is possible to plan and execute safe and efficient flights, optimizing routes in real-time. The "Open Gateway 5G Drones" demonstration highlights how Open Gateway APIs enhance connectivity and assess risks along drone routes using Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Additionally, we have implemented an advanced anti-drone system nationwide to ensure critical infrastructure and large-scale events' security. This system detects and neutralizes unauthorized drones, even in complex scenarios.
