We are adding Fortinet’s FortiSASE to our networking and security offering

At Telefónica Tech, we are continuing to develop our connectivity and cybersecurity offering with the addition of Fortinet’s FortiSASE, one of the market’s leading SASE platforms.

Businesses have undergone a profound transformation in recent years. Employees access applications from any location, data is distributed across cloud environments, and organisations need to provide a fast, secure, and consistent access experience regardless of the device or connection used.

This new landscape poses significant challenges. The disappearance of the traditional perimeter, the increase in the attack surface and the need to manage increasingly distributed environments mean that legacy security models are insufficient to meet current needs. In order to address this reality, we have adopted a Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) model that enables the alignment of networking and security under a single strategy, providing a secure, scalable, and simplified access experience. All of this is underpinned by Fortinet’s technology and a single-vendor approach that facilitates true convergence between connectivity and protection.

A more integrated network and security architecture

We are incorporating FortiSASE into our technology offering as part of this evolution, to extend protection beyond the corporate network and provide advanced security capabilities based on identity, context and continuous risk analysis.

The platform integrates key features that help to protect users, applications, and data consistently:

• CASB (Cloud Access Security Broker) provides visibility and control over the use of SaaS applications, helping to identify risks and strengthen compliance with security policies.
• DLP (Data Loss Prevention) protects sensitive information and helps to prevent unauthorised data leakage or exposure.
• ZTNA (Zero Trust Network Access) helps ensure secure access to applications based on the user’s identity, the context of the connection and the device’s security posture.
• SWG (Secure Web Gateway) helps protect web browsing and internet access against advanced threats and malicious content

Thanks to this approach, our customers can transition to a SASE model by leveraging their existing infrastructure and maintaining a consistent network and security policy regardless of where users or applications are located. This transition is carried out gradually, avoiding disruptive changes and maintaining a common framework for WAN, LAN and remote working environments.

The result is greater visibility into the network, users, applications, and cloud environments, as well as more precise control over access and data protection. Furthermore, integration with threat intelligence from FortiGuard Labs enhances the ability to prevent and respond to emerging risks.
