The Telefónica Chair at the University of Vigo guides students on how to turn an idea into a market-ready IoT product

At Telefónica Tech we held a workshop at the University of Vigo to show students how to turn an idea into a market-ready IoT solution. The session was part of our Telefónica Chair, which celebrates twelve years of promoting technological innovation at the Galician institution.

Over an intensive three-hour session at the School of Mining and Energy Engineering, 40 students engaged in both theoretical and hands-on training. Guided by our IoT Innovation and New Business team, they explored all stages of product development, from concept to business model design and a simulated investor pitch. The workshop encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork through collaborative group dynamics.

Our Telefónica Chair at the University of Vigo serves as a strategic space where we bridge academic knowledge with the technological demands of the market. Over the years, we have supported numerous initiatives, such as Arduino workshops and smart city events, to bring emerging technologies closer to students.

With this kind of initiative, we reinforce our commitment to young talent and to developing technological solutions that meet real-world business challenges.
