At Telefónica we are part of the select group of European companies chosen by OpenAI to access its Artificial Intelligence specialised in cybersecurity, GPT 5.5 Cyber, through the Trusted Access for Cyber (TAC) programme.
This access will help strengthen our defensive capabilities by enabling us to investigate vulnerabilities, analyse code, manage incidents and respond more quickly to complex threats. TAC aims to enable companies and specialist Cybersecurity teams to work with more useful and precise tools, avoiding unnecessary blocks in legitimate tasks such as defensive programming, security training and responsible vulnerability research.
As a provider of critical infrastructure and managed security services, we work to protect customers, networks and essential digital services. As Alejandro Ramos, Global Director Cybersecurity at Telefónica Tech, explains, these advanced defensive AI capabilities can help us accelerate threat analysis, strengthen our resilience and improve detection and response to incidents across the large-scale environments we operate and protect for our customers.
This access forms part of OpenAI’s EU Cyber Action Plan, presented to the European Commission and to the Member States, to improve Europe’s preparedness and cyber resilience, and will allow us to continue strengthening the Cybersecurity capabilities and services we offer to our enterprise customers.
