Together with HaloTech, we at Telefónica are announcing the launch of TU Quantum Encryption, a secure communication solution based on post-quantum encryption for IoT devices in critical environments, implemented on the Kite platform from Telefónica Tech.
Telefónica Tech's Kite allows real-time and remote monitoring and control of IoT devices connected through low-power, long-range NB-IoT and LTE-M networks that guarantee optimal coverage and reliability in remote locations. This post-quantum encryption (PQC) development enhances the security level, protecting information and data in the long term against future threats from quantum computing, a technology that could compromise current cryptographic schemes.
The solution was built from the IoT Quantum Ready proof of concept for HaloTech IA helmets. Developed jointly with Telefónica Innovación Digital, we at Telefónica Tech have contributed our expertise in connectivity and security through our Kite platform.
The solution will be presented at Telefónica Innovation Day on October 17th in Madrid. The HaloTech IA helmets will transmit information such as environmental parameters, thermal stress, SOS signals, or the operators' GPS location. This information will be encrypted using classical and post-quantum algorithms.
