We analysed tourist travel in Spain during the summer of 2026 using Smart Steps

Telefónica Tech has published a new edition of the report on tourist mobility in Spain during the summer of 2026, based on our Smart Steps platform’s data. The analysis, covering the months of June, July, August, and the first 15 days of September, shows how Spanish tourists have travelled both within and outside the country, and how the number of international visitors has changed compared with the same period in 2025.

Smart Steps, our solution based on Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, enables us to transform anonymised mobility data into strategic insights to analyse journeys and understand tourist behaviour.

The results for 2026 reflect a summer characterised by growth in international tourism, whilst travel within Spain remains at similar levels to the previous year.
