Through Geprom, our industrial automation and digitalisation engineering company, we have deployed an advanced automation and robotics solution at the facilities of Legumbres La Cochura, one of Spain’s leading dry legume packaging companies. This project marks a significant step forward in the modernisation of the agri-food sector by fully automating the company’s end-of-line production processes.

The new solution enables process optimisation, lower operational costs and a reduction in repetitive manual tasks, while increasing productivity through continuous 24/7 operations. In addition, we are helping to improve workplace safety by removing heavy and potentially hazardous tasks, while enhancing quality control through precise and consistent product handling.

The project includes four robotic palletising cells equipped with four-axis robots capable of handling loads of up to 190 kg, as well as two automated guided vehicles (AGVs) to transport up to 24 pallets per hour. The solution also features a fully autonomous pallet wrapping and stacking cell and a centralised control system with advanced software designed to optimise palletising patterns.

Through our 360° Industry 4.0 infrastructure approach, we integrate industrial and digital processes from end to end to help transform our customers’ production environments. The installation automates eight simultaneous production lines and manages multiple product formats, ranging from one-kilogram to five-kilogram packages, with the capacity to process up to 450 packages per hour per cell.
