At Telefónica Tech, we are participating in the rollout of a pilot program launched by the Government of Aragón to evaluate how Artificial Intelligence can help improve the diagnosis of dermatological conditions across primary and hospital care. The project is part of the Aragón’s healthcare digital transformation strategy and incorporates and incorporates Artificial Intelligence technology developed by Legit.Health.
The tool enables healthcare professionals to analyze clinical images, automatically assess their quality, obtain differential diagnoses, and estimate the severity of nearly 300 dermatological conditions, including chronic diseases, benign lesions, and malignant lesions. Additionally, it also includes an imagen assessment algorithm that automatically verifies whether images are suitable for clinical analysis.
The solution, certified as a CE marked medical device, has already been implemented in the dermatology departments at Miguel Servet University Hospital and Lozano Blesa University Clinical Hospital, as well as at the health centers in La Almozara, San José Centro, Miralbueno, and Tauste. During this initial phase, healthcare professionals will receive training and ongoing support to facilitate the solution’s integration into clinical workflows and evaluate its adoption in daily clinical practice.
Over the coming months, the use of the solution and its clinical impact will be closely monitored. The findings will help generate evidence of the value Artificial Intelligence can bring to enhancing clinicians' diagnostic capabilities, improving care prioritization, and supporting a more efficient and digital healthcare system.
