Within the framework of ‘Quantum Telco’, presented by Telefónica at MWC 2026, at Telefónica Tech we are showcasing our solution to address the transition to post-quantum cryptography, structured around the Quantum-Safe Cryptographic Hub, through which we help organizations develop cryptography that is resistant to advances in quantum computing and aligned with European security standards.
At the stand, we showcase five real-world use cases that reflect how we support enterprises and public administrations in their transition to the quantum era. First, we address cryptographic risk identification, inventory and analysis, enabling organizations to assess current exposure. We then work on the adoption of cryptography-as-a-service and crypto-agility models, facilitating algorithm evolution.
We also present use cases focused on digital sovereignty and external key management, as well as on protecting information even while it is being processed. Finally, we demonstrate how cryptographic hybridization, combining conventional and post-quantum algorithms, enables a progressive transition prepared for current and future threats.
This approach is supported by post-quantum-ready infrastructure such as the IBM LinuxONE server, which we are using to migrate IT environments to new cryptographic algorithms and strengthen long-term resilience.
