Telefónica Tech welcomed at Distrito Telefónica a delegation of more than 30 business and institutional leaders from Miami, as part of the “Americas Linkage to Spain” programme organised by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. The visit aimed to strengthen business and technology collaboration between the United States and Spain and to learn first-hand about our differentiated capabilities.
During the visit, the delegation toured several of our innovation spaces. At TheThinX, they explored our capabilities in IoT Connectivity and AI & Data; and at the Digital Operations Center (DOC), they learned how we manage global cloud and cybersecurity operations in an integrated way, in coordination with local Security Operations Centers such as the one Telefónica Tech operates in Miami.
Notable attendees included:
- Alfred Sanchez, President & CEO of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, which represents more than 1,400 companies in the state of Florida and of which Telefónica Tech is an active member and cybersecurity services provider.
- Rodrick Miller, President of the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, which in 2025 recognised Telefónica Tech USA with the Key to Miami-Dade County.
- Madeline Pumariega, President of Miami Dade College, one of the largest public educational institutions in the United States, with whom we collaborate on academic initiatives and the cybersecurity scholarship programme.
- Juan Carlos Pereira, Executive Director of the Spain-US Chamber of Commerce in Florida.
- John Coronado, Commercial Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Spain (U.S. Embassy Madrid).
In his welcome remarks, Luis Lepe Márquez, Country Manager of Telefónica Tech in the USA, highlighted that this visit “strengthens our role as a technological bridge between Europe and the United States and reinforces our firm commitment to supporting institutions and businesses on both sides of the Atlantic.”
The delegation was received and accompanied by María Asunción Gonzalo, Global Head of Go to Market; Cristian López Rallo, Head of Business Development; and Carmen Fernández Valdunciel, Head of DOC & Customer Experience, who presented Telefónica Tech’s capabilities and facilities to the participants.
The visit underscored our commitment to innovation, institutional collaboration and the development of new technological opportunities across both sides of the Atlantic.
