Telefónica Tech is extending its Virtual Data Center (VDC) service with a new node in Barcelona

Today we are pleased to announce the expansion of Telefónica Tech's global Virtual Data Center (VDC) service with a new node in Catalonia. This new node has been deployed in the Terrassa data center, in Barcelona, and aims to offer companies and local administrations a secure and customizable Cloud service.

Our Virtual Data Center service allows companies to host applications in a secure environment and create hybrid environments from private Clouds hosted at the customer's facilities or from the Nabiax data centers we work with. We are bringing the cloud closer to customers in the region who need geographic proximity and minimal compute and processing latencies with this deployment.

Our VDC service also has high security standards and helps ensure data sovereignty. It has a data center designed to provide maximum availability levels and offers a variety of value-added services. It also complies with ISO 27000, SOC 1/2 and Esquema Nivel de Seguridad (ENS) certifications.

With this deployment, we bring to Catalonia the Sovereign Cloud proposal thanks to this deployment, with its own owned and operated service that complies with national and European regulations. It is also the only service in Spain that has the VMware Sovereign Cloud seal.

At Telefónica Tech we have currently a total of 15 VDC nodes deployed in data centers distributed in different countries, including Spain, Brazil, United States, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Argentina.
