At Telefónica Tech we support Deoleo in its global digital transformation through projects based on Blockchain, industrial digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. Through three technology projects, we work together to strengthen olive oil traceability, optimize the management of its industrial plants and enhance product quality throughout its lifecycle.
The first project focuses on enhancing traceability through our TrustOS blockchain platform, which Deoleo has integrated into the solution it began developing in 2022. This technology securely and immutably records information from every stage of the production chain, providing greater transparency for consumers. Today, more than 35% of Deoleo’s extra virgin olive oil already incorporates this technology, enabling independent quality verification and improving the management of potential quality or food safety incidents. Each bottle features a unique QR code that allows consumers to access detailed information about the oil’s origin, including the cooperatives where the olives were harvested and the bottling date.
In addition, we are supporting the digitalization of Deoleo’s industrial plants in Alcolea (Córdoba, Spain) and Tavarnelle (Florence, Italy). Through Geprom, our specialized industrial digitalization unit, we are integrating EMI Suite technology to manage factory maintenance processes. The system enables the planning and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, work order management and inventory control, while paving the way for predictive maintenance models that anticipate potential incidents before they impact production.
The third pillar of the collaboration focuses on developing Artificial Intelligence solutions to support the olive oil blending process. AI models provide decision-support tools for the master blender, helping identify the best raw materials and oil varieties available in the market and ensuring consistently high product quality.
Through this collaboration, we reinforce our role as a technology partner supporting companies in their digital transformation, combining capabilities in data, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and industrial digitalization.
