We integrate immersive and accessible technology into Bermeo’s new museum space

We have participated as the technology integrator for the new museum space promoted by Bermeo Town Council to showcase the history, culture and traditions of this fishing town in the Basque Country through innovative digital experiences.

As part of the project we integrated the connectivity, technological infrastructure and digital content required to deliver an immersive, interactive and accessible visitor experience. To achieve this, Telefónica Tech deployed a technology solution comprising touchscreens, laser projectors, multimedia players, dedicated PCs and audio systems, as well as developing the digital content that structures the visitor journey.

Among the experiences available is an interactive timeline that allows visitors to explore Bermeo’s main historical milestones through images and micro-stories available in Basque, Spanish, English and French. The space also features audiovisual content dedicated to the town’s cultural, maritime and festive heritage, giving visitors a comprehensive insight into its identity and evolution.

We have also contributed to the development of an immersive experience based on a 360-degree virtual tour of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. This experience combines interactive navigation, audiovisual content and ambient sound to bring one of the area’s most iconic landmarks closer to visitors.

Accessibility has been a key focus of the project, with multilingual content, subtitles and adapted audio systems designed to facilitate access for people with different needs.

Through this project, we are helping public administrations, businesses and citizens benefit from digital technologies through innovative, accessible and connected solutions that help preserve cultural heritage and create more inclusive, immersive and enriching experiences for visitors and local communities.
