At Telefónica Tech, we have expanded our Virtual Data Center (VDC) service to the Canary Islands, establishing the first node at the data center in Tenerife.
With this expansion, we bring Cloud technology closer to the companies and public entities of the archipelago. This allows a smooth transition to secure Cloud environments with minimal latencies, while ensuring data sovereignty as they are stored within the territory.
With Virtual Data Center, we offer a Cloud service that can be managed by the client or by Telefónica Tech. It allows for the integration of communications, security, hosting, and housing in a single data center, on a tailor-made and secure virtual platform.
This step reiterates our commitment to facilitating the secure digital transformation of organizations and companies. We provide value-added services such as backup, disaster recovery, and multi-factor authentication, aligned with globally recognized security certifications to ensure business continuity.
In total, at Telefónica Tech, we have 15 VDC nodes deployed in data centers that are distributed worldwide in Spain (two nodes in Madrid, one in Barcelona, and this one in the Canary Islands), Brazil (Sao Paulo and Curitiba), the USA (Florida and Virginia), Colombia (Bogotá), Peru (two nodes in Lima), Chile (three nodes in Santiago de Chile), and Argentina (Buenos Aires).
