Digital Transformation is happening in the Health Sector, by multiple actors, with ordinary and extraordinary funding, with or without published Strategic Plans. In this XXXI Conference we propose to address some challenges (16) raised as significant ‘use cases’ of this transformation and to identify useful actions for the next contracts among all the agents involved: ‘impatient’, professionals, suppliers, etc. We are encouraged to cooperate against ignorance (individual and collective) rather than compete against anyone.
The term IA and its many typologies or classes is in vogue. With this exercise of collective reflection, we wish to collaborate so that any AI generates the expected benefits without falling into generalist clichés or foreseeable dangers.
To define the challenges, the institutional, technological and scientific committees of the SEIS, together with the participation of other experts, have started from two complementary perspectives: What major problems does our health services system have? and, from within the ICT field: What can current information and knowledge technologies contribute? For this reason, the work programme presents use cases related to major health and/or organisational problems (antimicrobial resistance, digital imaging, etc.) and cases directly related to ICT (architectures, tools, legal framework, security, change management, etc.).
In continuity with previous exercises, the proposed methodology follows the scheme: challenge - key question - how (actions) - discussion - proel proposals - ... Or, in other words, to go from the known results to new proposals for improvement, both in the decision rules and in the actions for diagnosis and treatment aimed at cure and care. This style of work seeks the active participation of everyone: each opinion counts and weighs up the general criteria, as happens with the health results incorporated into clinical decisions. Each space (plenary or workshop) will begin by commenting on the answers obtained to the key question posed by the workshop leaders. It will continue with arguments, affirmations, discrepancies, and new offerings from the speakers. And, in this ever-changing technological scenario, it will continue with new actions for the continuous improvement of curing and caring.
