The Data Space developed by Telefónica Tech for Evidenze has been created with the aim of facilitating the secure, sovereign, and efficient exchange of data between organisations in the healthcare sector, thereby promoting collaboration and the advanced use of clinical information.

The solution includes two use cases based on data collected during a phase I-II randomised, open-label, multicentre, national clinical trial conducted to assess the efficacy and security of treatment for patients with untreated metastatic pancreatic cancer.

The first use case employs artificial intelligence models to predict potential adverse effects associated with the administered drugs, facilitating preventive clinical decisions and potential adjustments to medication. The second analyses sociodemographic, analytical, clinical, and therapeutic variables to identify patterns related to treatment effectiveness and patient survival.

Case study highlights

Secure and efficient data exchange in the healthcare sector

The model provides an environment in which data and services can be discovered and used under defined conditions, ensuring provider sovereignty, secure access and the traceability of operations.

Evaluation of treatment effectiveness to support clinical decision-making

Monitoring cancer patients allows for the collection of data and information that is not always systematically utilised to anticipate potential complications, analyse progression patterns or evaluate therapeutic effectiveness. The solution developed makes it possible to identify the extent to which treatments contribute to improving survival and disease control.

Prediction of adverse effects to improve cancer care

In clinical trials and the follow-up of cancer patients, adverse effects associated with medication pose a risk to the security and continuity of treatment. Predicting these effects supports clinical decisions for personalised therapy, with the aim of improving patient well-being during treatment.
