The main challenge in this project lies in the water telemetry use case, as it takes NB-IoT technology to the extreme. This deployment requires a high concentration of devices, as well as underground locations under a wrought iron slab that’s surrounded by concrete. Moreover, the life of the batteries must be extended by at least 12 years and, finally, the deliveries must have 100% daylight reading qualities.

Highlights of the success story

Optimised meter fleet management

Thanks to the realisation of water balances to detect leaks in the distribution networks, real-time consumption control and early identification of faulty meters, among other measures.

Improvement in the environment

We cease to produce more than 5 cubic hectometres while offering the same service, which is reflected in a reduction of emissions totalling more than 1,400 tonnes of CO2.

Improvement of the end user experience

Thanks to the real reading of all the meters without estimating the consumption, real billing is achieved and, therefore, there are fewer complaints.

What others say about us

“The deployment of the NB-IoT network for the transformation of the water management contributes to an improvement in the environment because we cease to produce more than 5 cubic hectometres per year while offering the same service, which is reflected in a reduction of emissions totalling more than 1,400 tonnes of CO2”.
