Tabacos El Guajiro, a family-run business founded in 1935 in Tenerife, Spain, has implemented a digital traceability solution at its plant that ensures compliance with European regulations and guarantees the authenticity of every product.

The company faced the challenge of complying with European traceability regulations, which require a unique identifier on each unit and the recording of all its movements, which led it to partner with Telefónica Tech to embrace innovation.

A comprehensive solution was implemented at the Santa Cruz de Tenerife plant, including labelling machines and laser markers, as well as the integration of Osapiens cloud-based software. The company now collects and analyses data in real time, thanks to IoT and Artificial Intelligence technologies, achieving complete control over production. This transformation has enabled the company to comply with European legislation, increase operational efficiency, guarantee quality and strengthen consumer confidence.
