What is security posture?

Security posture is a company's level of preparedness to prevent, detect, respond to and recover from cyber threats.

It reflects the overall state of an company's security based on factors such as the technologies deployed, system configuration, vulnerability management, access control, operational processes and the level of security awareness across the company.

Why is it important for companies?

It makes it possible to understand a company's actual level of risk exposure and set priorities for improvement. A strong security posture does not depend on a single technological solution, but on people, processes and technology working together in a coordinated manner. It also helps reduce the attack surface, improve response capabilities and strengthen cyber resilience.

How can security posture be strengthened?

Improving security posture requires an ongoing approach. This includes maintaining an up-to-date asset inventory, managing vulnerabilities, implementing models such as Zero Trust, protecting digital identities through IAM and PAM, monitoring infrastructure through a SOC using technologies such as SIEM and XDR, and incorporating cyber threat intelligence capabilities to anticipate emerging threats. Regular assessment and continuous improvement are essential to adapt protection to changes in both the business and the threat landscape.
