Ensuring water quality is one of the greatest environmental challenges of our time. Plastic pollution, organic discharges and the proliferation of algae affect biodiversity, human health and the local economy.

To address this challenge, Telefónica Tech promotes the use of 100% electric aquatic drones with IoT technology and 5G connectivity, which collect waste and monitor in real time water quality parameters such as oxygen, pH or turbidity.

These devices operate autonomously or remotely, removing up to 500 kg of waste per day without interrupting port traffic, reducing costs compared to traditional methods and reinforcing safety by avoiding manual intervention in contaminated areas.

The collected information is integrated into Cloud platforms and dashboards, enabling data-driven decision-making through AI and Data technology.
