Telefónica Tech connects Fermax video door entry systems with IoT technology

At Telefónica Tech, we announce our collaboration with Fermax to provide IoT connectivity for its video door entry systems, enabling more secure, efficient and remote access management. This agreement positions us as Fermax’s technology partner to connect its solutions in Spain and other European countries such as France and Portugal.

Through our digital business unit, we are deploying our managed IoT connectivity solution via the Kite platform, allowing Fermax to achieve full visibility and centralised, real-time remote control of all its video door entry systems connected through SIM cards. This approach supports efficient monitoring and management of large-scale device fleets.

Managed IoT connectivity for real-time, remote control

This project further strengthens our position among the global leaders in IoT connectivity, an area where we continue to consolidate our leadership through a managed connectivity proposition combined with analytics capabilities and insight generation that help companies scale their IoT deployments securely and efficiently.

To date, we have already delivered connectivity to more than 27,000 Fermax video door entry panels, equipped with 4G technology and an integrated, non-removable SIM-IoT card. This ensures reliable and secure communications over mobile networks.

Enhanced security and user experience for connected buildings

Thanks to our IoT connectivity, Fermax video door entry systems become fully connected devices that significantly enhance the end-user experience. Residents can interact with their home or building from anywhere, receive real-time notifications and remotely open the door from their mobile phone, supported by encrypted communications and controlled access that safeguard privacy.

Our technology also enables Fermax and its installer network to remotely monitor, manage and maintain connected devices in real time, helping to anticipate incidents, resolve issues more quickly and often avoid on-site technical visits. This technological foundation supports the development of new digital services and aligns with Fermax’s objective of exceeding 100,000 connected video door entry systems by 2030.
