Faced with challenges related to transparency, ethics, security, and regulatory compliance arising from data governance and AI adoption in the public sector, Lanbide has defined a governance strategy that demonstrates responsible and transparent use of AI.

This strategy is supported by the evolution of the Anjana Data platform, which manages data as a strategic asset and incorporates governance of AI algorithms and systems. The project promotes an operational model based on roles and permissions, validation flows aligned with RACI matrices and DAMA philosophy, a catalogue of data and metadata assets, including datasets, reports, indicators, dimensions, and business rules, a unified business glossary, and data lineage traceability. Extending the data governance framework to AI ensures algorithms comply with principles of transparency, security, ethics, and efficiency, in line with the European AI Act and Basque Government guidelines, applying Lanbide’s methodology.

Case Study Highlights

Centralised access to data

Simplification and automation of data access following FAIR principles to ensure its location, access, and use, while providing users with autonomy in searching for and using data in business processes and decision-making.

Improvement in operational efficiency

Thanks to an agile and adaptable governance framework, the project will enable Lanbide to carry out a descriptive analysis of job seekers' data and profiling, as well as to predict employment trends by area and sector.

A leader in the public sector

Lanbide is positioning itself as a reference in the public sector, promoting the responsible use of AI and establishing a solid foundation for the future evolution of its data and artificial intelligence systems. This project is not only an operational improvement, but a paradigm shift in data management and AI in the public sector, setting a precedent for other institutions in Spain and Europe.

Improving services for citizens

Lanbide has a professions and skills assistant to improve people's employability. The work carried out within the scope of the project will provide a greater amount of data for the benefit of citizens and the European private sector, and it will also improve the organisation's knowledge of the data.

What others say about us

“After implementing the data governance framework in an initial phase, our collaboration with Telefónica Tech is enabling us to evolve towards a more mature data culture. This includes incorporating AI governance, strengthening traceability, and promoting standardization and a common language, all of which support better decision-making and improved services for citizens.”
