The city wanted to implement a smart lighting system to ensure efficient and sustainable lighting management. The solution offered involved the installation of more than 10,000 nodes with NB-IoT connectivity in the municipality's lighting fixtures, allowing the collection of data on their operation and sending it to a central platform for advanced analysis and management. Thanks to this remote management solution, major improvements in the efficiency and energy savings of public lighting have been achieved, providing both economic and environmental benefits for the city.

Highlights of the success story

Efficient control

The solution features a smart system that simplifies the lighting control and maintenance. The control platform makes it possible to manage the lights remotely, turn them on or off as needed, and monitor and dim the lighting system for optimal efficiency.

Optimized maintenance

Through consumption monitoring and the ability to act on unjustified deviations, each GPS-equipped lighting allows for plug & play installation, precise localization of faults and, in addition, facilitates the acceleration of repairs without the need to switch on the entire system.

Energy efficiency

The solution also provides precise information on the exact times of sunrise and sunset, thereby enabling precise scheduling for turning lights on and off, with direct impacts on electricity savings.

Comprehensive optimization

Our solution goes beyond the conventional management of public lighting since, through a remote management platform, light regulation levels and lighting parameters can be configured, as well as managing possible incidents that may arise (e.g. power surges).

Increased citizen satisfaction

The solution improves service to citizens by detecting incidents earlier, which optimizes maintenance tasks.
