Tourism Insights is an innovative initiative designed to add value to the tourism sector of small municipalities through the use of advanced data analysis technologies. Using the Smart Steps Big Data platform, anonymous information from mobile network antennas is transformed into useful and actionable insights about visitors.

The project provides an accurate and up-to-date view of tourist behavior across the 122 member towns, offering detailed data on sociodemographic profiles, origins, length of stay, and mobility patterns. This information enables the identification of trends, detection of opportunities, and informed decision-making based on objective data.

Thanks to this Big Data–based solution, municipalities can optimize their tourism strategies, enhance visitor experiences, and promote more balanced and sustainable economic and social development, strengthening the competitiveness and visibility of rural destinations.
