The project consisted of the creation of an application allowing several municipalities in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area to identify the profiles of tourists, where they come from, what their chosen offer is, what they spend, how much they consume and how they rate the quality of the offer, among other data. Based on this invaluable information, it can make smart supply-related decisions to ensure more sustainable, intelligent and inclusive tourism.

Data as a major high-value asset

It helps to streamline internal processes and improve services for citizens and interaction with the administration and facilitates decision-making by means of the deployment of data-driven strategies.

Integration of different data sources

We have anonymised and aggregated data from Telefónica’s mobile network, credit card transaction data, flight and hotel booking data and data from the Internet and social media.

Improvement and personalisation of the tourist offer

Thanks to the use of data and advanced analytics, it can offer better and more efficient, personalised and sustainable services.

Exploitation and efficient use of the application

We’re working on training the managers of the application in the 36 municipalities to use this information in a secure and efficient manner.
