We work with the Technological Institute of Agriculture of Castilla y León (ITACyL) on the development of Datagia, a collaborative ecosystem to accelerate the digitalisation of the agricultural sector. The platform integrates IoT, AI & Data with end-to-end traceability modules, a marketplace, market intelligence, communication with public authorities and alerts. It also includes an application for consumers that adds transparency, and one for field staff that enables real-time data capture. The marketplace supports the exchange and commercialisation of products and services in a secure environment, fostering the circular economy and reducing logistics costs.

Datagia is supported by edge computing and collaborative models that preserve data privacy, together with hybrid cloud architectures for use cases such as early pest detection, optimal harvest timing or machinery monitoring. In addition, it deploys IoT sensors to support decision-making related to irrigation, climate and water.

  • We drive the digitalisation of ITACyL’s agri-food value chain with IoT and AI & Data

Use case highlights

End-to-end traceability

We digitalise and connect product traceability on a single platform. We provide a consumer application that delivers transparency on quality and sustainability, and another for field and production staff that enables consultation of information and real-time data capture. We unify processes and data to improve control, trust and brand value.

Secure and governed data space

We enable an agri-food data space where information can be shared and exchanged in a controlled and secure way, preserving data sovereignty. We ensure technical and semantic interoperability through standardised connectors and clear governance rules. We facilitate public-private collaboration and open the door to new services and monetisation.

Marketplace and circular economy

We provide a marketplace that facilitates the sale or exchange of by-products and waste between companies in the sector. We promote the circular economy and help identify nearby suppliers or materials, reducing logistics costs and improving sustainability. In addition, this approach fosters new business relationships and opportunities.

Data-driven decision-making and AI models

We ingest proprietary data and IoT sensor data for processing and inference execution, enabling anomaly detection, risk prediction, cost and price estimation or process optimisation through sector-specific pre-trained AI models. This improves planning, reduces uncertainty and accelerates evidence-based decision-making.

Operational efficiency and predictive maintenance

Real-time data capture and centralised consolidation to optimise critical processes and reduce manual tasks. We integrate sensing and near-source processing to operate in real time. We anticipate failures in critical machinery and optimise maintenance cycles using explainable techniques. We reduce operational and energy costs by improving cleaning, consumption and traceability, and help plan resources such as water, energy or fertilisers more accurately.

What they say about us

"It is a transformative initiative that will create a digital and innovation ecosystem open to farmers, cooperatives, industry, researchers and public administrations, positioning Castilla y León as a benchmark in agri-food innovation and contributing to the competitiveness of the sector in a global context."
