The Badajoz Provincial Council sought to modernise its communications and establish a more flexible, scalable infrastructure in line with new hybrid working models. To this end, it migrated its voice platform from HCS, hosted by Telefónica, to Webex Calling, Cisco’s cloud-based solution.

The project marked a national milestone, as it was the first migration in Spain from HCS to Webex Calling. Thanks to the willingness of the customer, the Badajoz Provincial Council, and the Management Centre, the numerous tests and updates required were successfully completed.

The migration was carried out without disruption and with due regard for the user experience. The new architecture, based on a dedicated Webex Calling instance, combines the robustness of the on-premises environment with the advantages of the native cloud: centralised management, automatic updates, and advanced security.
